SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

A 41-year-old man charged in a rental property scam on Craigslist.

According to Springfield Township police, James Barrett would post on Craigslist that his Springfield Lake Drive residence was for rent. He would then collect deposits from perspective renters with no intention of actually renting the property.

Barrett has been charged with theft.

Three victims have come forward to report the scam, and detectives believe that there may be more victims.
