A Detroit, Michigan man busted with prescription pills on the Ohio Turnpike.
Troopers stopped a 2013 Nissan Versa for a marked lanes violation on the Ohio Turnpike in Lorain County around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
Upon approaching the vehicle, troopers detected an odor of burnt marijuana and observed marijuana residue in plain view inside the vehicle. During a probable cause search of the driver, troopers discovered a pill bottle containing 150 oxycodone pills on the suspect.
A probable cause search of the vehicle also revealed marijuana residue on the driver side floorboard. The contraband has an estimated street value of $4,500.
The driver, Anwarr Pennix, 31, was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail. Pennix is charged with possession of a schedule II substance and aggravated drug trafficking.
