One former Marine is taking his troop awareness campaign across the country...and he is walking every step of the way

Mac McQuown, 51, is making a more than 15,000 mile walk to every capital building in every state in order to bring awareness to the troops.

He started his walk on September 11, 2011 and believes it will take him six more years to reach his goal.

We spoke with him Wednesday about why he's doing it.

"Veterans that have suffered severe wounds, even mental wounds, and they go on, and that's why I feel I have to do this, we have to remember," McQuown said.

As of right now he has walked almost 2,000 miles, all in hopes of remembering members of our armed forces and raising money for wounded and homeless veterans.
