PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -
A bizarre accident claimed the life of a local business owner Thursday morning.
Jeremy Swift, 34, was the owner of the 24-hour emergency home repair company Swift Home Solution who died after being run over by a company truck.
Phenix City police got the call shortly before 8 this morning.
Phenix City police confirmed the Swift died while trying to prevent a truck from colliding with his home on 16th Street in Phenix City.
Captain Jim Hart said Swift got out of the truck and it started rolling backwards. When he tried to jump back in the truck to stop it, the door knocked him to the ground and the truck rolled over him.
Swift was taken to the Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:18 am. Coroner Authur Sumbry Jr. said Swift died from blunt force trauma.
