CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Police are investigating six burglaries that happened near UC's campus.
Burglaries were reported over the weekend on Emming, Wheeler, Victor, Atkinson, and University Court.
In most cases a window was pried open, and in one entry was made through an open window.
Laptops, iPods, cameras, and jewelry were taken from the homes.
Police offered the following tips to help you avoid being a victim:
Watch out for your neighbors, report suspicious persons and activity to the police immediately.
Make sure the exterior of your house is well lit.
Istall and use a good quality deadbolt lock on all exterior doors.
Make sure windows are in good condition, and locked.
Interior lights and a radio or TV on a random timer help make it look like your house is occupied.
Have an inventory of all your electronics and valuables, includes make, model, and serial number.
If you have information, please contact Sergeant Jason Voelkerding, District Five Neighborhood Liaison Unit, at (513) 569-8506.
