UPDATE: Babysitter pleads guilty to death of toddler

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A babysitter has plead guilty in connection with the death of a 13-month-old boy.

In Hamilton County court on Thursday, Marquita Burch plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment and abuse of a corpse.

Investigators say Burch reported 1-year-old William Cunningham missing, prompting a five hour search by neighbors, police and fire fighters.

However, during questioning police found discrepancies in her story.

Burch then recanted her story, telling Covington detectives that Cunningham died in Cincinnati on Sheehan Avenue in Hartwell. Officers say Burch then hid the toddler's body in her cousin's closet in Hamilton County.

According to the coroner, Cunningham had been dead for 48 hours before his body was found.

The autopsy showed the boy died from an intracranial hemorrhage.

She was sentenced to 19 years in jail.
