A professional poker player and former World Series of Poker Main Event champ was one of six men charged in a prostitution sting this week.
According to police in Wake Forest, N.C., Greg Raymer was arrested as part of undercover operation on Wednesday at a hotel.
Police said each of the six men arrested responded to an advertisement posted by an undercover officer on a website often used by prostitutes.
Raymer and the other suspects were charged with misdemeanor prostitution and attempted crimes against nature, according to Wake Forest police.
Raymer was placed on $1,000 bond and had a court date set for April 18.
Raymer, 48, of Raleigh, N.C., is best known for outlasting a field of more than 2,500 players in the 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event played at Binion's Horseshoe casino in Las Vegas.
Nicknamed "Fossilman", Raymer also frequents poker tournaments and cash games in Las Vegas.
