BIRMINGHAM, AL (WSFA) -

Concert-goers who were looking forward to Friday night's Elton John concert are out of luck.

Organizers say the event, which was to take place at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Complex, is canceled. "Medical reasons" are being blamed.

Organizers with Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery say a concert set for March 22 has not been canceled and ticket sales continue.

Those who purchased tickets for the Birmingham concert through Ticketmaster.com or by phone will be given an automatic refund.
