STARKVILLE, MS (WAFB) -

Centerfielder C.T. Bradford and first baseman Wes Rea each drove in three runs Sunday to lead No. 8 Mississippi State to a 10-2 victory over second-ranked LSU at Dudy Noble Field.

LSU, which won the first two games of the SEC series, is 18-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference. Mississippi State is 19-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.

The Tigers won their seventh consecutive SEC series over Mississippi State, and their fifth in a row in Starkville.

LSU begins a four-game homestand at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when the Tigers play host to Northwestern State in Alex Box Stadium.

"It just wasn't our day today, and it's not a loss we're going to dwell upon," said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. "I'm very proud of our players for winning two games here in a very tough environment. I thought they played their hearts out and gave us a good start in the SEC race."

RBI doubles by rightfielder Hunter Renfroe and by Rea against LSU starter Cody Glenn gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 first-inning lead.

MSU extended the lead to 3-0 in the second when Renfroe drew a bases-loaded walk from Glenn.

Rea provided a two-run single and Bradford delivered an RBI single in the fourth to give the Bulldogs a 6-0 advantage.

Catcher Mitch Slauter lined an RBI single in  the sixth to increase the lead to 7-0.

Glenn (3-1), making his first career SEC start, allowed six run on six hits in 3.1 innings with three walks and no strikeouts.

Mississippi State starter Kendall Graveman (2-1) was credited with the win, as  he limited LSU to one run on seven hits in six innings with three walks and four strikeouts.

The Tigers got on the board in the seventh when second baseman JaCoby Jones lifted a sacrifice fly, but the Bulldogs erupted for three runs in the bottom of the frame.  Bradford contributed a two-run single to highlight the uprising.

LSU narrowed the gap to 10-2 in the eighth on a pinch-hit homer by Jared Foster.
