HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team fell short to No. 25-ranked South Alabama Tuesday in 13-7 slugfest at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

South Alabama (18-4) pounded out 21 hits, including a pair of home runs, and made several spectacular plays in the field. The Jaguars scored multiple runs in the first, second, sixth, seventh and ninth innings.

Southeastern (14-7) scored seven runs on 10 hits, but stranded 12 runners, as its home winning streak was snapped at 12 games (dating back to last season).

Jaguar starter Matt Bell (4-0) picked up the win after allowing four unearned runs in 5.2 innings of work. Starter Kyle Cedotal (2-3) suffered the loss for the Lions, allowing four runs in two innings of work and fanning four.

Southeastern travels to Jackson State (10-10) Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game at Robert "Bob" Braddy Field. There is no local radio coverage.
