GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -
The sexual battery trial against a former LSU football player continued Wednesday morning.
The trial resumed with audio of Charles Scott's statement to detectives on the day of the alleged incident played in court. In the statement, Scott claimed he didn't even know the accuser's name.
He said he was "shocked" when he got a knock at the door and the person said, "You raped my daughter." He told detectives he left Bogie's with another friend. Surveillance video shows he left with the accuser and her guy friend.
The lead investigator in the case against the 24-year-old former Tigers running back then took the stand. She testified Scott was trying to play "footsie" with her before the interview began. She added she had to call in another detective to assist her.
Detective Jennifer Dean said the video she saw from Bogies is NOT consistent with Scott's statement. That video has been played multiple times in court.
The charge against Scott stems from an incident involving an 18-year-old woman in November 2011. The accuser claims he got her drunk after an LSU game and raped her.
If convicted, Scott faces up to 10 years in prison.
