LAS VEGAS, March 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, provider of educational programs and training standards for eating disorder specialists and other medical professionals caring for those suffering from the full spectrum of disordered eating, is proud to announce the opening of its 27th annual iaedp Symposium at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort. The 2013 Symposium kicks off this Wed., March 20, with the start of pre-certification courses, a first for the Symposium, which will continue through Sun., March 24 and will feature five keynote speakers as headliners, interactive workshops as well as the reveal of the "Imagine Me Beyond What You See" mannequin art competition winners.

This year's keynote addresses will feature the nation's top eating disorder professionals speaking on the 2013 theme, innovations in eating disorder treatment. Keynote faculty is: New York Times best-selling author, Pam Peeke, MD., Ovideo Bermudez, MD., Jeff Rediger, MD., and Raymond DiGuiseppe, PhD.

Thirty-two innovative workshops will be offered this year, including close-up workshops with keynote presenters, Dr. Pam Peeke, Dr. Raymond DiGuiseppe and Dr. Jeff Rediger. The workshops will begin Thursday morning and will run through Sunday.

The 2013 Symposium also will reveal the winner of the third annual "Imagine Me Beyond What You See" body image art competition. Out of a record thirteen submissions from treatment centers, private practices and individuals from around the world, five were recently chosen as finalists, with the winner being announced and spotlighted at the Symposium.
