WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) -
The developer of a proposed new Kroger in West Chester withdrew its proposal on Wednesday after much resistance from several neighborhood residents.
Silverman & Company, a developer based in Blue Ash, wanted to build a
shopping center that would feature a 130,000-square-foot Kroger
Marketplace.
The proposal was located at the corner of Tylersville Road and State Route
747, which is currently a cornfield. However, in order to build a
shopping center in that location, a change in the zoning of the land is needed.
West Chester residents sounded off at a zoning meeting on Monday, saying the new Kroger would bring more noise, traffic and safety concerns to the area.
On Tuesday, officials from Silverman & Company withdrew the proposal to build.
