WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -
Authorities are investigating an accident in Whitewater Township involving a Jeep and a bicycle on Wednesday.
Ronald Riggs, 45 of Harrison, was driving a 1997 Jeep Limited headed southbound on State Route 128 around 2:30 p.m. Sheriffs say Riggs, for an unknown reason, went off the right side of the road.
The Jeep then crossed over a driveway in the 5000 block of S.R. 128, hitting Zerrel West, 21 of Cincinnati, who was riding a bike.
West was also headed southbound on S.R. 128 on the right side of the solid white line at the time of the incident. He was not wearing a helmet.
He was flown to UC Medical Center in critical condition. Riggs was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not believe to be a factor in the crash.
