ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) -

An Enterprise church youth director has been arrested and charged with rape.

After receiving a tip that a possible sex crime had been committed, the Enterprise PD Investigation Division discovered that 25-year-old Timothy Thomas had sexual intercourse with a juvenile under the age of consent.  The crime was determined to have taken place between February 28 and March 18, 2013.

Thomas was the Youth Director at St. Luke UMC at the time this crime occurred. Church officials are cooperating with law enforcement and authorities say that no crimes were committed at the church.

Timothy Thomas has been charged with second degree rape.  He is in the Coffee County Jail.

The investigation continues and further charges may be pending.
