BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The second round of voting in the Alabama BBQ Bracket kicked off Thursday on the Year of Alabama Food's Facebook page.

Barbeque fans can vote online for their favorite restaurant among four regional divisions. For the central division, Jim 'N Nick's Birmingham is leading the votes today against Full Moon Birmingham, but that could all change in just a manner of hours.

Starting March 21, folks have 48 hours to vote for the restaurant they want to advance to the next level of the competition. On Monday, March 25, another second-round vote will take place.

The voting schedule is as follows, according to www.YearOfAlabamaFood.com:

Thursday, March 21

North: Big Bob Gibson vs. New Market BBQ

South: Mike & Ed's vs. Lannie's

Central: Jim 'N Nick's vs. Full Moon

Gulf: The Brick Pit vs. L.A. BBQ

 

Monday, March 25

North: LawLers vs. (TBD)

South: Sam's BBQ vs. (TBD)

Central: (TBD) vs. (TBD)

Gulf: (TBD) vs. (TBD)

The contest, which follows a March Madness style bracket, began on March 11. The statewide barbeque champion will be announced April 8.
