CHICOPEE, MA (WSHM) -

Federal agents have arrested the former Holyoke Catholic High School girls' soccer coach on child pornography charges.

According to our media partner Masslive/The Republican, Michael Dupont, of Chicopee, allegedly told underage youths on the website Teenchat to pose nude in front of a webcam.

According to the criminal complaint, agents searched Dupont's Chicopee home early Thursday morning. Dupont allegedly contacted a minor from Vermont in October online. Dupont told the minor, who said she was 14 years old, he was a 37-year-old soccer coach from Massachusetts.

Dupont allegedly talked with the minor through a video chat where he asked her to "put on a show" and display herself nude over the webcam. Dupont allegedly admitted to arresting officers that he knew the minor was 14 or 15 years old.

Dupont also admitted to federal agents he received explicit photos from at least five different girls over the Internet.

He was the coach at the Chicopee school last season.

He is being held until a detention hearing on March 25.

In a release sent to CBS 3, Mark Dupont of the Springfield Diocese said:

"Holyoke Catholic and diocesan officials learned just this afternoon (3/21/13) of the arrest of Michael Dupont (editor's note- no relationship). We were, of course, shocked by this news.

"During his tenure as a soccer coach no allegations or related complaints were ever brought to our attention. Investigators have not found any evidence at this stage that involves Holyoke Catholic students."

"Llike all employees of the diocese, its parishes, schools and institutions, he underwent the normal screening, CORI and child abuse prevention training procedures. He likewise signed a code of conduct."

"His employment contract with the school ended last November, so he was not currently employed by the school. Working with the United States Attorney's Office, school and diocesan officials will be meeting with parents, faculty and students, starting with parents of soccer players tomorrow and then early next week with the larger school community."

"The Bishop has pledged full cooperation with law enforcement officials in regards to their on going investigation. He also asks the prayers of the entire community for those whose lives are tragically victimized by these actions."
