NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
The new president at Tennessee State University is making good on her promise to be more accessible to students.
Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover has moved into a home on campus previously used as office space.
Glover said she wanted to feel more connected to the campus, and recently a group of students who were having maintenance issues in their dorm drove up the home at dinner time and knocked on her door.
"She jumped up and put some shoes on and saw what the issue was and immediately addressed that," said TSU senior Shelby Rogers. "And her doing that really permeates throughout campus - just the sense of inclusion."
Glover started as president in January. Her first act of business was presenting a $50,000 check to the university to establish a scholarship endowment in her name.
