COUSHATTA, LA (KSLA) -
Firefighters are battling a fire at a storage facility in Coushatta at this hour.
Officials say the fire has been burning since 6 p.m. Thursday night at a storage facility in the 8100 block of Highway 509. KSLA News 12 was on the scene as 11 fire truck doused the flames. The facility is owned by a company named Dunn. Two of the storage buildings were destroyed in the fire.
Investigators say they believe an electrical spark ignited the blaze. " It was an electrical fire. They said it was blue sparks, blue flames burst out from there. They've got some kind of bailing machine in there they bale scraps with," says Red River Fire District Chief Shane Felts.
No one was injured.
The Red River Parish Fire Chief told KSLA News 12 that this is the same location of a fire that happened two years ago. Based on that timeline, officials believe the fire could burn for at least a week.
