FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AP) -

Authorities in northern Arizona say a Prescott Valley man is in custody after a car chase from Sedona to Flagstaff.

Coconino County Sheriff's officials say 28-year-old Nicholas Wayne Gunter is being held on suspicion of aggravated DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen properly.

The chase ended early Thursday near Interstate 17 in the Flagstaff area.

Sedona police tried to stop the vehicle because it looked like one that fled a theft near the town's outskirts.

As the pursuit left the city limits, county sheriff's deputies took over. Flagstaff police became involved as the vehicle neared that city.

Authorities deflated three of the vehicle's tires using stop sticks.

Gunter then fled on foot along Highway 89A south of Flagstaff before being arrested. He doesn't have a lawyer yet.
