A Bordeaux man remains in serious condition after robbers stabbed him, forced him into his own car and drove off early Tuesday.

Now, detectives are searching for those two suspects who they say then threw the 76-year-old man out on the side of Whites Creek Pike before returning to rob his home on Boyd Avenue.

The man's neighbor of more than 40 years, Doc White, said he's worried about his friend.

"It's crazy. It's crazy," White said. "They don't care a darn about life."

Metro police say a woman in a red hooded sweatshirt and a man in a black hooded sweatshirt stabbed the victim in the neck and briefly abducted him. After the victim ran to a nearby home for help, the suspects returned to his house.

From there, they took off on foot before police arrived, and they haven't been seen since.

"They should give themselves up," White said. "There's other ways to make a living - better ways - you know what I mean?"

The victim is recovering at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and expected to be OK.
