SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Springfield police arrested 19-year0old Kenny Bynum for the shooting of an 11-year-old girl at the store Expressions on Boston Road on March 16.

Police say the 11-year-old victim was waiting in line to buy new Air Jordan sneakers.

Bynum allegedly opened fire in the store after an altercation where several males tried to cut the line.

A stray bullet hit the 11-year-old in the leg. She wasn't the intended target according to police.

She went to Baystate Medical Center and will recover from her injuries.

Police arrested Bynum at an area hospital where he was recovering from a gunshot wound to the hand after an incident on Worthington street in Springfield Saturday night.

Bynum is being held without the right to bail and is waiting to be arraigned on charges including Assault with Intent to Murder with a firearm.
