PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The Valley's warm weather continues for the holiday weekend. Temperatures will start out in the 60s this morning but then quickly warm up into the low 80s by lunchtime. By this afternoon, highs should top out around 89 degrees.

There will be a mix of clouds and sunshine for today and tomorrow. Bands of clouds will continue to slide through the state on Sunday. If your holiday plans take you outside, skies will remain partly cloudy through Sunday evening.

Temperatures will be close to 10 degrees above average for this time of year, but some cooler weather is on the way.

A low-pressure system turning off the coast of Central California will approach the state by Monday, bringing cooler air into the region. Highs should hover around 80 degrees Monday and Tuesday.

A gradual warming trend will take place by the middle of the week. Sunny skies will be back in full force.
