One person was killed overnight in a head on collision in Palestine.

According to Palestine Police Patrol Sergeant Gabriel Green, just before 9:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to 4200 block of West Oak Street in reference to a wreck.

Officers on scene found that a Ford F-250 pulling a trailer was struck head-on by a Chevy blazer.

Two individuals were transported to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge James Wesley.

Green says there are no signs at this time as to what factors contributed to the wreck.

The driver of one of the vehicles was described as "young," while the driver of the other vehicle was described as, "an older white male with older white female."

The younger person is the person who is deceased.

The identities of all of the people involved in the accident have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
