Albertville man shot in face over weekend

ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A dispute involving a woman led to a shooting over the weekend in Marshall County.

It appears the victim's wife was out for the evening, and he was attempting to urge her to come home around 4:15 a.m. Saturday at a home on Bolvin Circle.

Albertville Police said a 33-year-old man came to the home where his wife was attending a small gathering with friends.

While trying to coax his wife home, the man was shot in the face by another man who was at the home.

The victim left the scene and went to his home on Richmond Avenue and called police.

He was later airlifted to Huntsville Hospital.

The shooter left the scene but was later found and gave a statement to police.

"Uh, we've not filed any charges right now.  I've talked to the investigators, who are handling the case, and they don't immediately foresee anything, but they will present everything to a grand jury," said Albertville Assistant Police Chief Jamie Smith.

He said the victim's injuries were non-life-threatening but would require some surgery.
