NEW FRANKLIN, OH (WOIO) -

A murdered couple's stolen car has been located on Akron's west side.

Police say the 2010 Mazda was taken from a home on Rex Lake Dr. in New Franklin. Jeffrey and Margaret "Peg" Schobert were found murdered inside the residence Tuesday afternoon.

Meantime, investigators in New Franklin are checking into a possible tie between a crime two weeks ago and the murders.

A police report in Akron shows that their 18-year old daughter, Chelsea, was brutally attacked on the 24th of March. She suffered multiple stab wounds and a fractured skull. Two days later, Jamayne Ruiz was arrested for the crime. The report indicates that the two did not know one another.

The couple was found in a bedroom by construction workers doing renovations. They had been in the home for several hours before discovering the bodies.

Jeffrey Schobert was a highly regarded lawyer with an Akron law firm. His specialty was defending doctors and hospitals against malpractice suits. His wife was active in several civic organizations.

Police are still withholding elements of the case that would be known only to the killer.

While they won't say what they read into the March incident, revenge of some sort is a possible motive.

How the couple died has not been released.
