Blue ribbons hang to prevent child abuse and neglect

(FOX19) -

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time when child abuse and neglect awareness is promoted across the country.

Several homes and businesses in the Tri-State have followed suit, participating in the Blue Ribbon Campaign to Prevent Child Abuse.

On Friday, residents tied blue ribbons on a white fence along I-71 north in Florence, just outside of Tom Gill Chevrolet.

The ribbons represent only a portion of children in Northern Kentucky impacted by abuse and neglect.
