SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - 1 of the two men wanted in the slaying of an Alabama college student has been arrested in Georgia.

The U.S. Marshals Service reports that 18-year-old Kiunte Jerome Furr was arrested Sunday morning at an apartment complex in Savannah. He is being held in the Chatham County Jail pending extradition to Alabama.

Police in Tuscaloosa, Ala., say Furr is 1 of 2 men accused of the April 9 shooting death of 17-year-old Matthew Hunter Callahan at a condominium complex. Callahan was student at Shelton State Community College, and investigators believe he was killed during a robbery attempt.

Police are still seeking 24-year-old Timothy Thornton.
