PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) -

Officers with the Palestine Police Department arrested a wanted fugitive after an hours-long standoff on Monday evening.

Palestine PD confirmed to KLTV 7 late Monday night that Jeorge Mendoza, who had been on the run since Saturday evening, was arrested at a home on East Lamar Street in Palestine.

Palestine PD posted on its Facebook page earlier in the evening that during the standoff, officers were able to remove two women and two children from the home. Mendoza is believed to have been armed during the standoff.

Right now, it's unclear what charges Mendoza will face. But he was taken into custody on Monday night.
