NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A suspicious package that was found Tuesday night closed an area of downtown.

The package was found on Second Avenue North and Church Street at 10:46 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a black rolling travel bag attached to a lamp post by a cable lock.

Officers evacuated the businesses in the area, Riverfront Tavern, Hooters and the Beer Sellar.

A hazardous response team later determined the bag did not contain any dangerous material. Businesses have now reopened.
