PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A woman is expected to survive after she was shot in the chest at a Phoenix home early Thursday morning.

Phoenix Police Officer James Holmes said the shooting happened near 80th Avenue just south of Indian School Road in Phoenix about 4:35 a.m.

The 43-year-old woman was in stable condition at a Phoenix hospital, Holmes said.

Police said they believe the woman was involved in an argument with her boyfriend, who shot her and fled.

Police were looking for the suspect Thursday morning.

No other information was immediately available.
