WADDELL, AZ (CBS5) -

Maricopa County sheriff's deputies are investigating an attempted abduction in Waddell Tuesday morning.

A man in an SUV tried to pull an 8-year-old boy into the vehicle at a park at 182nd Lane and Mountain View Road.

The park is located adjacent to the Mountain View Elementary School.

The SUV is described as black or green with body damage and ripped interior seats. Witnesses believe the vehicle was a Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban, MCSO said.

Police have provided as complete a description as they have of the suspect. He is black and 5'10" tall. He has a thin build, facial hair/beard and short dark hair, officers said.

People with any information about the suspect or incident are asked to call  MCSO at 602-876-1602  and reference DR# 13-071211.
