BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Four people in the Baton Rouge area have been convicted of illegally receiving benefits of more than $40,000.

Brandi Boyette pled guilty to getting almost $23,000 in food stamp and child care benefits after failing to report the father of her kids as a household member.  

She was sentenced to two years probation and will have to make restitution of $22,702 to the Department of Children and Family Services.

According to reports, Stephanie and Matthew Thibodaux received more than $14,000 in benefits after Stephanie failed to report Matthew as a household member and Matthew provided false documents to DCFS to help her get the benefits.

They were each given one year of probation and will have to pay DCFS $14,302 in restitution.

Beverly Banks received $6,793 in benefits after claiming a person who was not a member of her household.  She was sentenced to five years of probation, 100 hours of community service and pay restitution to DCFS.
