Four different quarterbacks threw for touchdowns and the defense saw multiple highlight plays as the white squad defeated the cardinal, 22-14, on Saturday in Troy's T-Day Spring Game at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Trojans ran through approximately 80 plays with the defense and offense splitting into two teams.

"We got a little over 80 snaps which was our goal," head coach Larry Blakeney said. "Our goal was to get some of these guys that don't get many reps some game experience. There are a lot of good players on this team and we still need some more. I'm pleased with a lot of guys and the springs they've had. We're looking to plug in hopefully a really good class in June, which should help us some."

The two squads took a 14-14 tie into the final minutes before quarterback Kinderick Dent hit wide receiver Chaise Dunn for a 35-yard go-ahead touchdown. The snap on the ensuing extra point was dropped to allow Trey Page to take ball in for the two-point conversion.

Senior quarterback Corey Robinson finished the day 11-of-15 passing for 130 yards and a touchdown, while senior Deon Anthony finished 7-of-10 for 124 yards and a score, to go along with 29 yards rushing on five carries. Dallas Tidwell went 7-of-7 for 112 yards and a touchdown.

The running back department saw four players carry for consistent numbers as Brandon Burks led the way with seven carries and 27 yards. Michael Lindsey finished with six carries and 20 yards, while Brandon Knight finished with the game's only rushing touchdown and 26 yards on five carries.

Senior Eric Thomas led the group of receivers on the day with 81 yards on six catches, while K.D. Edenfield finished with 48 yards on five receptions and a touchdown. Chandler Worthy hauled in three receptions for 90 yards and a score, while Bryan Holmes finished with just one catch, a 69-yard touchdown grab.

Three players shined defensively as Antonio Gillespie picked up two tackles for loss and a sack, while Shermane TeArt and Tyler Roberts each picked up half a sack.

Anthony connected with Brett Thiesen early in the game for a 45-yard reception, setting up Knight's 4-yard touchdown run to put White up early, 7-0.

The cardinal struck back at the end of the first half when Robinson hit Edenfield on the final play of the hald for a 16-yard touchdown grab to bring the score to a 7-7 tie.

After a short intermission, the game saw three combined touchdowns as Worthy opened the scoring with 6:05 left to go in the third on a 49-yard touchdown reception from Anthony.

The white would tie it up at 14-14 on a 69-yard touchdown pass from Tidwell to Holmes to enter the final quarter of play deadlocked at 14 each.
