WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – No feeling compares to scoring a touchdown game in front of thousands of people, including recruiters and members of the NY Giants -especially if you're only eight years old.

At the age of 5, Noah Roberts was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis, a condition which creates brain and spine tumors. The genetically mutated disease will eventually take his hearing, before taking his life.

Noah lives life like any other kid his age and enjoys playing with Legos and spending time with his dog.

He's an avid ECU football fan and has been to team practices. Noah's mom, Lisa, said the team has really embraced him over the past two years.

Several weeks ago the coach called and asked Noah to score a touchdown for the team during the school's spring scrimmage game.

Lisa said her son was a little nervous about the idea at first, but as soon as he realized the team would be blocking for him, Noah's excitement grew.

She says he loves football so getting to run across the field in a big stadium was an experience of a lifetime for her son.

"It was a very proud moment for us just to see the happiness on his face and know he got to be part of something so big," said Lisa. "It was just such a priceless moment for him and of course for him to be happy made us happy."

Lisa said she is very grateful to ECU for giving Noah the opportunity to play ball with them.

Noah will be in Washington DC for the rest of the week to get treatment at NIH.
