MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Three Montgomery Public Schools have earned top ten rankings in a U.S. News and World Report article released Tuesday.

Loveless Magnet High School (LAMP) was named the number seven high school in the nation and the number one magnet school in the nation. It also netted top honors in Alabama where it's ranked as the number one high school in the state.

Brewbaker Technology High School was listed as the number eight high school and the state and Booker T. Washington High School earned the number nine spot.

In a statement released today, Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange said congratulations and kudos are in order for the students, staffs and parents at these schools.

"This is a tremendous achievement that speaks to the hard work being accomplished every day in Montgomery Public Schools," said Mayor Strange. "We have often said, 'so go Montgomery Public Schools, so goes Montgomery.' To once again be recognized by U.S. News and World Report for scholastic excellence should give all of us confidence as our community faces the future. Our goal and desire is to have all of our schools at these levels."

The only other local school taking home top ten honors in the state was Auburn High School which was ranked the number four high school in the state.
