HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

A parishioner upset he couldn't meet with a pastor right away was arrested, accused of driving his vehicle into a Henderson church, according to police.

Henderson police said Kevin M. Wilson, 51, of Las Vegas, was arrested about 5 a.m. Wednesday at Central Christian Church after an officer responded to the building's activated alarm system.

Police learned Wilson demanded to meet with church officials several times on Tuesday. He was told to make an appointment, but declined and returned several times, asking repeatedly to meet officials, police said.

Wilson, according to police, returned Wednesday before sunrise and smashed windows of the building. Wilson then apparently drove his vehicle through an entrance of the church and into a hallway, police said.

Inside, Wilson allegedly got out of the car to damage furniture and walls before returning to his vehicle and driving further down the hallway, police said.

An officer arrived at the building in the midst of the vandalism and arrested Wilson. Parishioners are stunned.

"It's horrible," said parishioner Debra Whitfield. "I'm really shocked. I'm shaking a little bit hearing the news."

Pastor Jon Bodin arrived shortly after the break-in. He said when he got there he saw doors banged up and broken glass everywhere. Parish staff spent the morning cleaning up the mess.

"My understanding is he drove through the lobby and down a couple halls," said Bodin. "He ended up parking his car and grabbing some rocks somehow. He wanted to break the windows with the rocks. When I came in, I was just saddened for this individual."

Wilson was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on burglary and destruction of property charges.

Despite the incident, police said a city building inspector found no structural damage as a result. Church officials also told police the building is open for normal business.
