Passenger attacks driver, steals taxi cab

EAST PRICE HILL, OH (FOX19) -

A taxi cab driver says a passenger stole his cab Thursday morning in East Price Hill.

It happened just before 2 a.m. near the intersection of Chateau and Price Avenue. Greater Cincinnati Taxicab driver Moduo Diadne says his passenger forced him out of the cab and drove off with the 2003 gold Crown Victoria cab.

Diadne says the passenger did not pay the taxi fare, forced the driver out of the car, and got behind the wheel and drove off.

The cab was last seen heading north bound on Chateau Avenue in East Price Hill.

The suspect is described as black male,  30-33 years in age, about 6 feet tall and weighing around 270 pounds.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white jacket and a blue hat that may have represented Chicago or a Chicago sports team.

He also had not shaved in several days.

Diadne says he thought the suspect was trying to rob him, not the car.

"When I stepped out, I thought he was coming after me, but he jumped in the front of the seat and drove off and turned right on Chateau," Diadne said.

Police have a partial license plate number: ERB.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (513) 532-3040.
