NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Crews are working to repair a large sinkhole that formed Thursday afternoon along McGavock Pike.

McGavock Pike is closed in both directions between Cummings Drive and Murfreesboro Road, and officials say the closure is expected to last up to two weeks.

Metro Water Services crews are working to secure the area and start repairs as soon as possible.

A detour has been established to move traffic around the sinkhole.
