PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Maricopa County Search and Rescue personnel are combing the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix for two people overdue from a two-day hike.

Chris Hegstrom of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said a man in 40s and a woman in her 60s left for the hike Wednesday and were expected back Thursday night.

Hegstrom said air and ground units were searching near First Water Trail for the pair. He said hikers both should have plenty of water and food.

Hegstrom said a man who was supposed to meet them Thursday night was a no-show.
