NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police said a man who crashed his vehicle into a south Nashville home Friday was driving under the influence.

Matthew Ryan Shaw, 30, is charged with DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly ran a stop sign and his 2004 Range Rover collided into a home on Country Way Road.

Shaw was uninjured in the wreck and nobody was home at the time.

Police said Shaw refused to take a blood test and performed poorly on a field sobriety test.

An officer also allegedly found in the car two syringes, cotton balls and a burnt spoon, which police said are commonly linked to heroin use.

Shaw's bond is set at $3,500.
