CORDES JUNCTION, AZ (CBS5) -

A Kentucky man is spending some time in an Arizona jail on charges of possessing and transporting marijuana for sale, sheriff's authorities said.

Stephen Ledonne, 62, was pulled over for a speeding violation April 22 on Interstate-17 in Cordes Junction, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said.

As the deputy was talking to Ledonne, he detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

During a search, the deputy smelled a stronger odor of "raw"marijuana coming from the rear of the vehicle, YCSO said. A duffle bag was found in the trunk. It contained four plastic bags of marijuana and two smaller ziplock baggies, also with marijuana inside, sheriff's deputies said.

The marijuana, described as "higher grade," weighed four pounds.

Ledonne remains in custody on a $50,000 bond.
