KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

What a man thought was going to be a fun night out turned into a trip to the hospital after a drive-by shooting.

Two people were shot last weekend when shots rang out near The Gusto Lounge, a popular Westport bar, early Saturday morning.

"I didn't notice at first I was hit. Then a minute passed, just cause it was shock. My arm started burning. I looked down and there was a hole in my arm," said one of the two victims, who asked to conceal his identity.

He fears for his safety, considering the shooters are still on the loose.

He was hit once, and the bullet ripped a hole right through his arm. Doctors had to take a bone graft to repair the damage. Now, a massive wound shows where doctors had to cut him open.

He said it all started after two men in their 20s were kicked out of the bar for fighting. He heard them tell a bouncer they would be back to "shut the place down."

"Maybe 15 minutes passed. Sure enough, a car pulled up. They didn't slow down and shoot.  They stopped, rolled the windows down and made sure they got off seven shots before they left," the victim said.

Now, he can't work as he recovers from the shooting and surgery.  Police haven't made any arrests, and he is hoping someone will speak out so he can finally rest easy.

"No matter if you know them or not, if you saw anything, I would appreciate it. My friends, my family would appreciate it ... just let somebody know who they are. Give tips to get them off the streets," he said.

If anyone has any information that could help police, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
