Greenville Police are currently searching for two men they believe to be responsible for robbing a bank on Fort Dale Road early Thursday.
Police Chief Lonzo Ingram confirms the incident happened Thursday morning at the Bancorp South branch located on Fort Dale Road.
Details of what happened inside the bank are limited, however authorities say they are currently searching for two black males who may have skin stained by the red dye packs that were placed with the money taken from the bank.
Authorities quickly identified and recovered the truck the suspects were driving when they left the bank. The white Ford F-150 was found in a wooded area near Taco Bell, down the street from the bank. Authorities knew to search for the dye stains after finding a dye pack exploded inside the truck
Police thought the suspects fled from the truck on foot into the nearby wooded area. They now say that truck was recently stolen from the Daphne area and they have reason to believe the suspects had a getaway car waiting near where the truck was found.
Alabama State Troopers have confirmed they are assisting in the search for the two men.
