TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) - Democratic state Rep. Pebblin Warren of Tuskegee has been appointed to the Tuskegee University Board of Trustees.

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley announced the appointment on Friday. Warren will fill the seat currently held by James Cade Armstrong,

Warren is a graduate of Tuskegee University. She was elected to the House in 2005 and represents the city of Tuskegee plus portions of Bullock , Lee and Macon counties.

Warren has worked most of her career in higher education. She previously worked for Tuskegee University for 15 years.

Warren has also worked with the Alabama Department of Post-Secondary Education, Trenholm State Technical College and Alabama Industrial Development Training.

Bentley says he appointed Warren to the board because of her "vast" knowledge of the Tuskegee board.
