CrimeStoppers offering $1,000 reward in home invasion cases

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Montgomery police are searching for suspects in a late night weekend home invasion. The crime occurred on Bell Road between Monticello Drive and Atlanta Highway.

Police say there were multiple people in the home in the 400 block of Bell Road when the suspects appeared late in the evening on Friday, May 3.

As many as five unidentified suspects armed with handguns forced their way into the residence and used cable ties to tie the victims' hands together.

Investigators believe the crime is related to another similar home invasion that happened a few weeks ago, but officials say the victims were not able to identify the men.

Montgomery Police Chief Kevin Murphy said the men were wearing masks but that some of the evidence leads authorities to believe they were familiar with not only the family, but with the businesses they own.

A task force has been created to investigate the home invasions.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers says as of Tuesday morning they've had several useful, legitimate tips come into the call center regarding this incident. CrimeStoppers and detectives are asking those tipsters who called with information relating to the crime to please call back - detectives would like to confirm additional details.

CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of any individual involved in this armed home invasion, or any other in Montgomery.

If you have any information that could help crack some of these cases, call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP.
