Suspect appears in court for carjacking

SPRINGFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) -

A man who was arrested after a carjacking in Springfield Township was in court on Wednesday.

A victim reported that his Chevy Xtreme was stolen from the Shell gas station on Hamilton Avenue by two black males with guns.

A short time later, Mt. Healthy Police spotted the vehicle at the UDF on Hamilton Avenue. A K9 unit was called in for a search.

Ryan Phelps, 23, was found hiding under a car on Adams Street. He was taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center on several charges.

Phelps' bond was set at $200,000.
