Thomas Reigel of LaGrange has hooked an ample prize from the Georgia Lottery.

Reigel, 53, matched all five numbers from the April 26 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $674,300 jackpot.

"I work second shift, and I found out by looking at my cellphone at 1:30 a.m.," Reigel recalled.

Shell Food Mart #0003, 2750 Roanoke Road in LaGrange, sold the lucky Quik Pik ticket.

Winning numbers from the April 26 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 12-18-27-31-36.

"I knew it (the jackpot) was big, but I didn't know that it was this big until I got home and checked on the computer," Reigel said.

A quality assurance employee, Reigel and his wife, Melinda, have four adult children and five grandchildren.

"This is great," the lucky winner exclaimed. "There will be lots of vacations with the grandchildren!"

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
