One man has been indicted following a May 8
shooting in Fairfield Township.
Todd James Armstrong has been indicted on charges of negligent
assault and obstructing official business after his firearm was accidentally
A victim was found around 2 a.m. on May 8 at the entrance of
Menard's in the 2800 block of Princeton Road.
The shooting actually occurred just prior to this in the area of
Cardiff Court and Leeds Lane. The victim had been driven away from the scene of
the shooting by others before stopping in the area of Menard's to call 911.
Police say prior to the shooting, the victim, Robinson Hao
Davalos, of Cardiff Court, was in a parked vehicle along with three other
people. Police believe there was drug activity taking place.
While in the back seat of the vehicle, Todd Armstrong, 22,
mishandled a handgun that was being shown and it accidentally discharged,
causing a round to go through the back of the driver's seat and striking
Davalos, who was sitting in the driver's seat.
