Officials ID 3 of 4 dead in Nye Co. crash

AMARGOSA VALLEY, NV (AP) -

Nevada authorities have officially identified three of the four people killed in a fiery wrong-way crash in Nye County over the weekend.

Nye County Sheriff's Lt. Frank Jarvis says the victims included 9-year-old Justin Howell, 13-year-old Jesse Howell, and 33-year-old Joy Howell. They were from Golden Valley, Ariz.

Nevada Highway Patrol officials say the Howells were riding in their Toyota van along U.S. 95 when a Buick sedan driving the wrong way hit them about 11 p.m. Sunday.

Both vehicles went up in flames. The driver of the Buick was also killed but has not yet been publicly identified.

The crash happened about 10 miles from the community of Amargosa Valley, and about five miles from the nearest fire station.
